Our Boronda/Garzas Firewise community offers a nationally recognized fire safety program from Firewise Communities/USA® which is customized to the needs of both our community neighborhood and individual residents.​

• Reduces risks from Urban Interface Fires:  Firewise practices are tailored to individual and local community needs. Communities who have taken these measures can reduce their vulnerability, and have demonstrated a greater chance of surviving a wildfire.

• Other Firewise Benefits:  Many insurers will offer lower rates to homes in Firewise communities. And, homes located in Firewise communities can often avoid cancellation of homeowners insurance or receive re-instatement when a community becomes Firewise.

• Grant Opportunities:  Many grant opportunities for fire safety improvements are made available to Recognized Firewise communities that are not accessible to entities that havenot received Firewise recognition.  We can make our community safer with less out of pocket costs.
